Orenda Yoga offers a variety of classes at many levels of practice.

  • Yoga Basics -  6 week Session New Session Begins 7/12/10 @7:30pm

    If you are new to yoga, Start Here!!! Beginner Yoga series starts with the basics. Learn proper use of props, correct posture sitting and walking, basic poses with personal modifications if needed, yoga back care ( what to do and not to do ), breathing techniques and simple meditation. 6 weeks $56  with Andrea Fortuin.
  • Yoga Circle   - flex Class

    With Andrea Fortuin ( Flex Class )Need a boost getting into the routine of a personal practice? Are you looking to expand what you know and deepen your practice? This is the place to be! Come enjoy Yoga in a group setting. Yoga Circle is a weekly guided Yoga experience that allows for many levels of practice. Class involves a gentle hatha / raja approach. This is a continuing class and further study of the 8 limbs of Yoga will be explored.
  • Chair yoga  -$5 Drop IN

    Yoga stretching with the aide of a chair allows almost anyone to join in to a gentle form of movement. Poses are done seated in ,  or holding onto a chair for support. Yoga works the joints and muscles to increase strength, flexibility, circulation , and balance. This class goes beyond typical exercises in that it encourages quiet reflection, proper breathing, and better posture. This is a great class for senior citizens and/or those with limited mobility.  No yoga is experience required.                                                                                                                                          *Andrea is a certified yoga instructor with advanced training in yoga for seniors
  • vini Yoga Advanced - Flex class

     Viniyoga is a style of yoga that integrates aspects of both Iyengar Yoga ( focus on the core components of each posture form) and Ashtanga Yoga ( emphasis on flow from pose to pose ). Viniyoga playfully modifies the poses so that they are appropriate for each person by taking into account joint tightness, skeletal differences, and body type to make even the most challenging yoga postures fun.At least one year experiance and current personal practice required for Vini Yoga Advanced *James Danoff Burg is a certified Vini Yoga Instructor .

  • Very Gentle yoga  - flex class

    Very gentle yoga is designed for those new to yoga with restricted movement. Through the supportive use of props , we will explore the world of yoga poses (asanas) that yields enormous benefits to increase movement , balance, improved breathing, strength & flexibility.  with Laurel Tormey Cole
  • Evolve yoga - Flex Class

    Yoga Evolve is a fun class that is designed for Advanced Beginners with some yoga experience, or athletic beginners with no yoga experience. We work on developing balance, strength - particularly upper body strength, core strengthening and over-all improved flexibility. The environment is very relaxed. Students "evolve" their yoga practice and transition from beginner poses to more challenging poses with an eye toward a fuller expression of a given asana (pose). Once a particular pose is accessible - then we progress to increasingly more subtle explorations of the pose - so the journey goes ever inward. Instructor: Laurel Tormey Cole
  • Hatha Yoga ( for all Levels) FLEX CLASS

    This class, open to all levels, focuses on postural alignment while exploring the world of yoga asanas in a light-hearted and supportive atmosphere. Modifications and props allow students to access poses comfortably while gaining maximum benefit. Yoga makes you stand up straighter, breathe more fully, sleep better and smile more! Let's do it!   • Pre Natal yoga- flex Class

    For expecting moms at any stage of pregnancy . Explore safe ways to move, stretch and breath as you progress through these months. Spend a relaxing hour with other moms-to-be . With Melinda Lippert  Sessions resume in September
  • I got You Babe! yoga for new moms and babies!

    Wee Ones: Yoga and play for babies 8-weeks to crawlingIn these playful sessions, designed for new mothers*, fathers and others caregivers, you’ll stretch and strengthen your body, breathe more deeply and soothe achy muscles with specially selected yoga poses while enjoying time with your babe (age 6 weeks to beginning crawlers.**) You’ll also meet and connect with other new parents and caregivers and their babies.

    Movers and Shakers: Yoga and play for babies crawling to 18 monthsIn these sessions, young crawlers and walkers and their families will enjoy songs, stories, stretching and a discovery of spaces under, over, through and around yoga poses made by themselves, each other and their parents/caregivers.

     * New mothers are encouraged to wait to begin the class until at least 4–6 weeks postpartum, or once their doctor has cleared them to begin exercising again.

  • Yoga Nidra - $5 Drop in offered 1x monthly

    Non movement , guided meditative form of self exploration and relaxation. Integrative Restoration iRest is a transformative meditative practice that is derived from the ancient teachings of Yoga Nidra that leads to psychological, physical and spiritual healing. The ultimate design of iRest is to help us live contented lives, free of conflict, anxiety, fear and suffering. The practice is integrative in that it heals traumas that are present in the body, mind and senses; its restorative in that it helps the practitioner to recognize their underlying ground of Being, their true nature.   • Itsy Bitsy Yoga - baby weekly & monthly play sessions

    Itsy Bitsy Yoga Baby classes contain dozens of unique yoga postures designed to support baby’s development. Each class is filled with calming, nurturing ways to enhance bonding and improve baby’s sleep. During a Baby Itsy Bitsy Yoga class, babies enjoy yoga while on their backs, tummies, or held in loving arms. For parents, this class is a special opportunity to meet other moms, get support, and learn about baby's emerging personality. Most of the yoga we do in Itsy Bitsy Yoga is for baby, but you will also learn breathing and relaxation techniques as you practice a bit of yoga yourself.   • Itsy Bitsy Yoga - TOTS - session

    Ages Crawling to 24 Months
    Itsy Bitsy Yoga for Tots is a supportive, fun-loving, and active yoga class.  As tot's mobility increases, classes offer developmentally-appropriate poses that encourage and support their physical explorations.  During a Tots Itsy Bitsy Yoga class crawlers and walkers playfully practice yoga postures while they are standing, sitting up, walking and jumping.  Parents also do a little yoga, but no yoga experience is required.   • 'Lil' Dance Workshop (4&5 yr. old ~ 6&7 yr. old)

    "Twirls and tendus" dance workshop; This class is like no other! Come dance play, express yourself without  pressure of performance," just dance for joy!" No recitals, time  commitments or costumes! The class is a exploration of different styles of dance; jazz, modern,  and ballet. We will have a warm up, learn basic dance vocabulary and  technique. Play  dance games and explore movements with fun expressive  themes each session! Come dance, move, laugh experience the joy of  dance.   • Emerging Teen Yoga - flex class

    with Christine Carpenter This class is geared to children ages 9 to 13.  Increasingly, childrens' lives are becoming busier and, often, more stress-filled. In this  class, middle-school age children will learn how to use gentle yoga movement and meditation to help quiet their minds, get rid of stress, and re-energize their bodies.  - Sessions resume in September
  • Yoga for WOmens Health   - Session

    Experience the healing aspects of Yoga focusing specifically on issues of women’s health.  In this class, designed for women of all levels of experience, learn asanas (poses) that you can easily practice at home for a continued sense of health and wellbeing.  Physical symptoms including: hot flashes, insomnia, decreased bone density, and fatigue are among the symptoms we will address.
